Lowering Everyday Costs
I understand what it’s like to live paycheck to paycheck. My number one priority will be lowering your everyday costs.

We must end the war in Iran so that we lower gas prices.

We need to end reckless tariffs that have driven up the price of everything from coffee to tomatoes to appliances.

I’ll work to modernize our energy supply and prevent data centers from taking advantage of us, so that you pay lower utility bills.
Families here just want to make it to Sunday to buy barbacoa and Big Red. But under this economy, it’s way too hard to make that happen. My priority will be lower costs, not tax breaks for big corporations and billionaires.
End Corruption
Stock trading is corrupt, and it’s time we stop the practice of members of Congress personally profiting as they buy and sell stocks based on insider information. It’s just one more sketchy practice that encourages politicians to serve the agendas of billionaires over the needs of working families, and it’s time to shut that door for good. I won’t trade stocks as a Member of Congress, and I’ll work to get the influence of billionaires out of our elections.
A Secure Border
As a Sheriff’s Deputy, I know how important having a secure border is. I saw firsthand how Biden failed us on the border, and I’m not afraid to stand up to leaders of either party when they get immigration wrong.
We should make sure that Border Patrol has what they need to keep our border secure and ICE should be focused on criminals and held to the same standard as police. We need comprehensive immigration reform that includes border security, pathways to citizenship, and work visas that meet our economy’s needs.
Safe Communities
I’ll bring a unique perspective to Congress — I have served nearly two decades with the Bexar County Sheriff’s Department. I’ve faced criminals, helped get drugs off our streets, and helped victims of domestic violence. I don’t believe in defunding the police. Our community is safest when we have well trained law enforcement.
Help You Get Ahead
Like many of us, I’m a renter — because the cost of buying my own home is out of reach. We’ve got to help families do more than just scrape by.

I’ll crackdown on big private equity companies buying up homes, make sure home construction is efficient and fast here in Texas, and find ways to drive down the costs of the materials needed for construction so that new homes are more affordable.

I’ll fight for a Child Tax Credit that helps families keep more in their pocket each month and for investments in child care.

I’ll fight for strong schools and apprenticeship programs that help Texans get good-paying jobs.
Make Healthcare Affordable
Nobody should ration a prescription or skip lifesaving medical treatment because they can’t afford it. House Republicans gutted the Affordable Care Act tax credits, forcing more than four million Texans to pay more for health insurance. These cuts drive up health care costs for all of us and strain our hospitals.

I’ll reverse Republicans’ healthcare cuts and invest in our rural hospitals.

I’ll always fund Medicare and support expanding what Medicare covers.

I’ll crack down on Big Pharma companies that price gouge patients so that we lower drug costs across the board.
Data Centers Shouldn't Drain Our Resources
Massive tech companies shouldn’t be allowed to come in and build loud, sprawling data centers that drain our water and raise utility costs. I’ll always stand up for working Texans, and make sure we aren’t stuck paying the bill for these out of state tech companies.
Honor Our Veterans
While House Republicans have proposed cutting veteran disability benefits, I’ll fight any attempt to cut veteran benefits. We should invest in the absolute best mental and physical healthcare for our veterans.
Protect SNAP & Social Security
As a kid, my family relied on my grandma’s Social Security to help put food on the table. I know how critical these programs and programs like SNAP are, and I’ll oppose any cuts to them. I’ll always fight for Social Security and Medicare and oppose any cuts to these critical programs. We should expand what Medicare covers — to include dental and vision and hearing — and I’ll oppose any plan to privatize Social Security.
